A Hickman line bag can be used to store the lumens of the Hickman line when it is not in use. They are worn around the neck with the lumens resting in the bag. It helps the patient take the weight of the lumens – an alternative to plastering the lines to the chest with layers of tape. It also prevent the lines from getting tugged and keep them clean.
